Research platforms are an important aspect of LINEE's Joint Programme of Research and a direct consequence of objective (iii) on restructuring of the scientific space. They are needed to provide comparative perspectives, ensure scientific pluralism and combine fundamental/applied research to test the existing scientific paradigms. A first step towards the development of a broader framework on multilingualism in a European knowledge-based society requires a sound elaboration of the key concepts which define and relate to multilingualism and the knowledge-based society in Europe.

Coordination and coaching of partners with regard to Theoretical / Methodological issues pro-actively while elaborating on the key concepts of LINEE and investigating the potentials constituting the research platforms by linking them up to specific aspects which determine the dynamics of cultural integration in Europe. Contacting all partners via WP leaders and TA supervisors in order to take stock of the theoretical and methodological inventories of the partners and to contribute to developing an innovative electronic portal.
